icon10/08/2016 - Eagle Gymnastics Crowns Three District Championships

On October 8th & 9th, the Eagle Gymnastics Compulsory team competed in Mckinney at District Championships.

The Level 3 athletes had a good weekend overall. Powerhouse Taj Calhoun S. (JrD) placed 2nd on vault and top 5 on bars, beam and AA. Teammate McKenna S. placed top 5 on beam and top 10 on vault, bars and AA. Lindsay R. (Jr. C) in the toughest age group of the meet, placed top 10 on vault, bars, beam and AA. In the SrC division, Sophie N. placed top 5 on bars, beam and top 10 on vault, floor and AA. Sydney B. (SrD) took 3rd on vault and bars and placed top 5 on floor and top 10 in AA.

During the level 5 session, Katie S. competed in the Sr. A division. Katie had a fantastic meet, earning the 1st place title on floor and AA. She also took 2nd on vault and beam and 3rd on bars. 

Good luck to the Level 3 team at North State Championships on November 4th and 5th and miss Katie at the Level 5 State Championships in November 11th and 12th. 

icon11/12/2016 - Amazing Performances at Level 4 & 5 State Championships

On November 12th, Eagle athlete, Katie competed in San Antonio at Level 5 State Championships. In te JrC3 division, she became the State Champion on floor. She also took top 10 on vault. 

On November 19th & 20th, the Eagle Gymnastics Girls Compulsory Level 4s competed in Denton at the State Championships. The Senior Division started the weekend off, and what a great start it was! Becoming the 1st State Champion of the weekend, Allison (SrB3) took 1st on beam. She also placed bronze on bars and top 5 in AA. Lila (SrA1) took silver on floor and top 10 on bars & AA. The Junior divisions competed on Sunday and had great performances. Ryan (JrB3) was our second State Champion of the weekend, earning gold on beam on beam and AA. Ryan also earned silver on floor, bronze on bars and top 10 on vault and floor. Reese (JrA3)  placed top 5 on bars, beam and AA and top 10 on vault and floor. The level 4 team also became State Champions, earning gold in Small Man.

Congratulations to all of our Level 4 & 5 athletes for a fantastic end to our season!

icon11/18/2016 - Olympic Training Center for Eagle Athlete

Joshua Caperton, a level 7 gymnast at Eagle Gymnastics Academy, earned an opportunity to train and compete at the Olympic Training Center on November 11, 2016. The four day trip included a long training session, competition against the top athletes in the sport, and a comprehensive clinic from the National Coaching staff. The experience in of itself was extraordinary for Joshua, but he also put Eagle on the big stage as well. His coaches were extremely proud and hopeful we can take a couple more trips in the up and coming years. 

We are so proud of you Joshua! 

icon12/03/2016 - Eagle Gymnasts Rock at the State Invitational

On December 3, 2016, the Eagle Gymnastics Girls Compulsory Team competed at the Carol Hilllenburg State Invitational. Our Level 2,3 & 4's walked away with the Gold Place Team Award.

Level 2 athletes had a fantastic meet! Amelia Fair, Paige Murphy, Maycie Norris, Alexis Paine & Alyssa Voxland each had great performances, leading to many earning personal bests on events and all around. 

Level 3 athletes rocked the competition! In the Jr. A divisoin, Lindsey Rosen took 1st on vault, bars & AA and 2nd on beam and floor. Also Jr A. Taj Calhoun Smith place 1st on beam, 2nd on vault & AA and 3rd on bars. Sophie Newcomb (Jr B division) earned 1st on bars, beam & AA and 2nd on vault and floor. Teammates Sydney Burton took 1st on vault & floor and 2nd on bars, beam & AA, while Anaya Luper took 3rd on vault.

Level 4 athlets also had a great showing. In the Jr. A division, Karla Ramirez won 1st on beam and 3rd on bars and all around. Kiersten Terrell (Jr C) earned 1st on vault, beam, floor & AA. In Sr. B, Sydney Kincade won 1st on vault and beam and 2nd on floor. Rounding out the team was Shaelyn Haiman. Congrats on her first competition of the season. 

Great job to our compulsory athletes for a wonderful meet. 

 

icon12/10/2016 - Boys Team Shine in Frisco, Texas

On the weekend of December 9, 2016, the boy's team traveled far and wide to WOGA Gymnastics in Frisco. The competition is a great warmup for the season, as many of the boys are trying out new skills and levels for the new season. The level 4 boys set the tone for the season with some great showings from the boys. Ben Lippert took home 5th on floor and 4th in all around, as teammate Graham Hall and Jake Wenham were not far behind. Elliot Frasier was also making his Eagle debut, walking away with a 4th place finish on high bar. The Level 5s also had a good showing with Matthew Beauregard placing 4th on parallel bars, Nathan Wang and Halen Watterson also rocked their routines, along with the Mumbru twins.

The Level 6 boys also had their season debut. While it wasn't their best showing, it showed the coach a lot of confidence going into the season. Owen Cendona blew the competiton away, taking 1st place in the AA. Cortland Witkoff took 2nd on vault, and teammates Gavin Bullard rocked parallel bars, taking 2nd place as well. Cameron Huber had a strong meet too, taking 7th on high bar. Brecken Fox also had a great meet, putting together some routines for the first time by himself. Very proud of all the level 6 boys!

Eagle's Level 7 boys also competed against some really tough competition. With the new age changes, a majority of the boys were repeating Level 7. All of the Eagle boys were first year level 7, making the competition even more fierce. Joshua Caperton had a good AA meet, taking 5th place with a couple of falls. Kaeden Nelson and Luke Robnett also competed well, as did Landen Nelson and Elias Anderson. The 3 older boys in the level didn't have the strongest meet, but made some great progressions for the early season. Way to go boys!

icon01/07/2017 - Team Texas Finishes Top 5

On January 7, 2017 six athletes from Texas travelled to the National Judges Cup in Virginia Beach, VA to compete against athletes from 18 other states. In the end, the team made up of Madison Hodes (Eagle Gymnastics), Jenna (J & R), Jaylyn, Alicia, Annabelle adn Brynleigh (from Love).- pulled out a 4th place finish against teams from Oklahoma, Northern California and Maryland.

Alicia, Jenna and Brynleigh all competed in the first session, while Jaylyn and Eagle's own Hodes competed in the 2nd session. Standout performances include: Hodes (Sr) was 3rd on beam and floor, Brynleigh (Sr) took home 2nd on beam, Jaylyn (Jr.A) was 1st on vault and AA, 2nd on floor and 3rd on beam. Next Alicia (JrA) was 2nd in AA and 3rd on beam, Jenna (JrB) was 2nd on vault, bars, beam, floor and AA and rounding up the team was Annabelle (JrA0 was top 5 on vault.

The six athletes qualified to the competition by placing top 6 AA at the Level 7 All Star Challenge held in December 2016. 

icon01/14/2017 - Eagle Gymnasts Dominate at Friends of Achievers

The Eagle Gymnastics Girls team competed in Lake Dallas, TX the weekend of January 13-15, 2017 at the Friends of Achievers Invitational. Level 2,3,4 and 5 teams walked away victorious taking 1st place team awards.

Session 1 hosted the Level 6s on Friday night. Katie had a rough start to her meet, but finished strong on bars, earning 2nd place.

The Level 2 team competed on Saturday morning. Many athletes earned personal best scores on many events. Lexie, Amelia, Mayce, Alyssa and Paige had an amazing end to their season.

The Level 3 team also competed early Saturday morning. The team was led by Sophie who took 1st on bars, beam and AA, 2nd on floor and 3rd on vault in the Sr.A division. Teammate Anaya rounded out the Sr. A division. In the Sr. B division, Sydney placed 1st on floor, AA, 2nd on bars and beam and 3rd on vault. Liindsay earned 1st on vault, floor, & AA and 3rd on bars and beam in the Jr. A division.

The Level 4 team competed on Saturday afternoon. In the Sr. B division, Sydne finished 1st on vault and bars, 2nd on AA and 3rd on floor. Teammate Shaelyn placed 3rd on beam. In the Jr. A divisiion, Karla took 1st on beam & floor and 2nd on bars and 3rd on vault. Teammate Taj had great first meet as a new Level 4.

The Level 5 team also had an awesome showing on Saturday afternoon. In the Jr. A division, Ryan finished 1st on vault, bars, beam, AA and 2nd on floor. Teammate Reese took 2nd on vault, bars, beam & Aa. In the Sr. A division, Allison earned 2nd on bars and beam.

On Saturday night, the level 8 team took the floor. In the Sr. A division, Madison placed 2nd on floor & AA and 3rd on bars and beam. Pallie took 3rd on beam in the Jr. A division. Teammate Amanda only completed two events due to injury, but did an awesome job. 

On Sunday morning, the level 7 team got their turn to shine. In the Jr. A division, Ailey finished 1st on AA, 2nd on floor, 3rd on bars, beam and floor. Also Jr. A, Anna placed 1st on bars, beam and 2nd all around. Teammates Taryn earned 2nd on beam, while Annabel earned 3rd on beam. In the Jr. B division, Ashlynn placed 1st on floor, 2nd AA, 3rd on vault and bars. Teammate Makenzie took 1st on vault and bars. In the Sr. A division, Kyla placed 2nd on vault and bars and 3rd all around.

Great job to our compulsory athletes for a wonderful season and good luck to the optional girls team who are just starting their journey this season.

icon01/14/2017 - Eagle Gymnastics Boys Team Shine in Houston

On January 14, 2017, our Eagle Gymnastics Academy Boys competed at the Houston Gymnastics Academy and So Cal Benefit Invitational in Atascocita, Texas.

The morning started with our Level 6 boys in the 8-9 year old division. Cameron worked hard and earned 6th on floor, 6th on rings, 5th on vault and 6th on parallel bars. Teammate Cortland took home 6th on pommels and 7th on vault and parallel bars, 3rd on high bar and 6th in the AA.

In the 10-11 age group returning to competition after months of illness and injury was Timmy. He had an amazing day and conquered some major milestones for his personal goals. We were very proud of him for doing as well as he did. His teammate, Brecken, took home 5th on vault and 8th on parallel bars and finished off 10th AA. Also in the 10-11 year old division was Gavin who earned 6th on pommel horse and vault, 3rd on parallel bars, 9th on high bar and 7th AA. Walking away with the all around title was Owen. His stellar performance received him 1st on floor, pommels and parallel bars, 5th on rings, 2nd on vault and 3rd on high bar. 

The session that followed, consisted of our Level 7 and 8's together. In the Level 7 group, Luke in the 9-10 year old division earned 8th on pommel horse and vault, and 9th on rings. Teammate Kaeden kept consistent, and earned 6th on rings, 2nd on parallel bars, 8th on high bar. Also competing as a 9-10 year old was Joshua who received 5th pommel horse, 2nd on rings, 1st on vault, 3rd on high bar and 5th in the all around.

In the same session but in the 11-12 year old division in the Level 8 group was Evan's first time in this level and he earned 2nd on pommel horse, rings and parallel bars. His teammate, Carter received 2nd on floor, 1st on rings, vault, parallel bars and 2nd on high bar, and 2nd in the AA. 

The last session for our boys that day was our 15-16 year old in Level 10. Jordan walked away with 9th on floor, 6th on pommels, 3rd on rings, 6th on vault, 3rd on high bar and 5th AA. Teammate Zach earned gold on rings, parallel bars and high bar. Gold was his color this weekend. 

This meet was a wonderful meet benefiting the So Cal University program and helping bring NCAA awareness to boys. 

The boys had a great experience and it was a very productive weekend. We are very proud of the boys and everyone had a great showing. GO EAGLE! 

icon01/21/2017 - Success for The Tumbling and Trampoline Team at Dallas Cup

Our Trampoline and Tumbling team started out the season out with some incredible accomplishments at their first competition at the Dallas Cup on January 20, 2017. We are so proud of this team and how well they have all come together to support each other.

Friday night started out with our upper level athletes. Drew took time out from coaching to compete, winning the Senior Elite Men's division for tumbling and Jeremy earned 3rd place in the Open Elite division for tumbling. In the Junior Elite division, Rachel earned 2nd place for tumbling.

On Trampoline, Isaac earned first place in the Senior Elite Division, with Parker rounding out the podium placing 3rd. Susan won the Open Elite division and qualified to move to Senior Elite division. The rest of the weekend proved just as successful. For the level 4-10, below are the top 3 finishers:

1st place winners were: Level 4: Grace F, Tumbling age 9-10. Level 7: Kyrsten, Tumbling- age 9-10, Sofia Double Mini- age 9-10. Level 8 Kyrsten double mini, Weston, Double mini, age 15 and older, Cooper, Tumbling- age 13-14 yrs, Level 9, Amanda Double mini- 15 yrs and older, Weston, Trampoline- ages 15 and older.

2nd place winners were: Level 6: Sierra, Trampoline- age 11-12, Level 8: Grace S. Double Mini- age 11-12, Kyrsten, trampoline, Kayla Double Mini- age 10, Level 9: Gracie C, Double mini- age 11-12, Caroline, Double Mini- age 13-14 years.

3rd place winners were: Level 5: Ella, Tumbling- age 11-12, Level 7: Kayla, Tumbling, Sofia Trampoline. Level 8: Cooper double mini: Kayla, Trampoline. Level 9: Hope, Tumbling, age 13-14 yrs, Faith: double mini, age 13-14 yrs, Level 10: Amanda, Trampoline.

icon01/21/2017 - Ricky Deci- RD761 Invitational and International Team Cup

On January 20, 2017, it was the opening day of the  RD761 Invitational and International Team Cup. Starting the meet out for us was our group of energetic Level 7's competing with numerous boys from across the country. In the 10 year old division, Luke earned 13th on floor, pommels and rings, 11th on vault, 12th on high bar and 13th AA.Fellow teammate, 10 year old Kaeden won 11th on floor, 8th on pommels and rings, 4th on vault, 9th on parallel bars, 5th on high bar and 7th AA. Just squeaking by with a 0.2 ahead of Kaeden was Joshua. Joshua also earned 6th in the AA and receiving 10th on floor, 5th on pommels, 7th on rings,vault, parallel bars, and high bar.

In the 11 year old division, Landen earned 14th on high bar with fellow 11 year old Elias stepping it up with taking home 8th on rings, 9th on vault, and 6th on parallel bars.

In the 12 year old group, Michael won 4th on high bar, Grant taking 12th on floor and 14th on pommel horse, 7th on rings, 11th on vault, 15th on parallel bars and winning 1st on high bar rounding out 8th in the AA. Teammate Logan had a great meet with taking 7th on floor, 6th on rings, 2nd on vault and winning 1st on parallel bars, 6th on high bar and 6th in the AA.

The last session of the day was our Level 10s with 15 year old Jordan taking 11th on parallel bars and 9th on high bar. In the 16 year old age group, Zach took home 12th on floor and 3rd on rings winning him a spot in the International Team Cup individual event finals. The Team Cup had representing countries from Japan, Great Britian, Canada, Germany, Australia and of course the USA Jr. Elite Team. This was a HUGE honor for Zach and it is the first time that Eagle has had a gymnast performing at this magnitude. We are so proud of this accomplishment. The event finals were being held on Saturday night so Zach had one more night of performance in his near future. 

It's now Sunday morning and time for the Level 8s to compete. Even competed in the 12 year old age group and had some personal bests. His teammate Carter took home 6th on rings and also met his goals. Competing in the following session, Solomon had a great meet with earning 11th on floor, 5th on rings, 7th on vault and high bar, 4th on parallel bars and he was the champion on pommel horse. He took home the bronze for the all around.

The last session of the day was officially the second day for Zach with the event finals on rings. Tonight there were the top gymnasts representing different countries and international judge representation as well and Zach was a part of it. Zach had a solid performance and took home 7th on his specialty, the rings. Eagle Gymnastics is very proud of his showing and earning the honor to compete in such a prestigious competition. Way to go Zach!

Sunday competition is finally underway, for the final day of the weekend; it was now time for the Eagle's very excited Level 6 team. They were well represented with 8-9 year old Cameron and Cortland both having exceptional days with goals met and new skills accomplished. In the 10 yr old division, Brecken took home 6th on pommel horse, 12th on rings, 13th on vault and high bar and 10 on parallel bars and 11th in AA. Teammate Owen, also had a great meet, taking home 8th on floor, 2nd on pommel horse, 9th on rings, 6th on vault, 7th on parallel bars, 10th on high bar and 7th in the AA. Rounding out the day was our boys in the 11 yr old division. Timmy held strong on his events and had a beautiful parallel bar routine and his teammate Gavin earned 5th on pommel horse and 7th on parallel bars.

What a great and exciting experience this proved to be for the Eagle Boys's team. With teams from other countries and many gyms having representation form across the country, the boys showed much growth in the skills from the prior competitions and their performance level was raised. GO EAGLE!
